Both Katrina Luster and Eric Willis received the award of excellence at the Governor’s Choice Awards in Oklahoma City, December 7, 2006.

Katrina has been a dependable, loyal employee at Runt’s Barbeque in Tahle-quah, bussing tables there for almost a year and a half where she always has a ready smile and a positive attitude. She takes great pride in her work and both management and customers alike compliment her on the thoroughness of the job she does.

This job has given her the financial boost she needed in making decisions dealing with money and other financial matters. It is her goal to become fi-nancially independent so that she can one day live on her own.

Katrina thanks INCOR, her vocational services agency, for their support which has helped her stabilize her life and get closer to achieving the goals she has set for herself.

Eric has worked diligently at the Pig Out Palace in Henryetta for more than two years as a parking lot steward. Come rain or shine, Eric is outside doing his job, seven days a week. As a father and husband, he felt the need to better his life as well as the lives of his family. He recently bought a home so that his family can have better living conditions and be involved in school and commu-nity activities.

Eric has also attended classes to improve his reading skills and has completed all of the work necessary to become a security guard. And in an effort to come as close as he can to giving his family a part of the American Dream, Eric also works a second job.

Eric is served by INCOR’s supported employment program. INCOR’s staff is deeply impressed with his dedication to his family and his willingness to work long hours in jobs that are difficult, but rewarding to himself and his family.

While the trip was exciting for both Katrina and Eric, it was a real thrill for Katrina who had never been to Oklahoma City before. Governor Henry was un-able to attend however, because of being in Hawaii on the 65th Anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the dedication of the U.S.S. Oklahoma Memorial.

Still, the pair had the opportunity to rub elbows with some of the Oklahoma’s high ranking officials and were filmed by a local Oklahoma City TV station. They also got to meet D.J’s from K95.5 FM and representatives of businesses from all across the state.

Everyone at INCOR is extremely proud of Katrina and Eric. Special recognition goes to their job coaches, Valerie Joice and Jason Gregory, in appreciation for their excellent work and all they did to help make this honor happen for Eric and Katrina.
